Voices of the Faculty: Presentation by DR. LINDA POLOLI APRIL 24, 2012 As the Director and Principal Investigator, Dr. Pololi will present quantitative and qualitative data on the culture of academic medicine generated by: Dr. Linda Pololi, MB.BS. (Doctor of Medicine) from University of London is a Senior Scientist, at Brandeis University and a resident scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center (WSRC). Prior to joining the WSRC, she was Vice Chancellor for Education and Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She has served on the medical school faculties of Brown University, East Carolina University and the Universities of Illinois and Massachusetts. As professor of medicine she has designed and established innovative major courses for medical students and highly successful interdisciplinary faculty development and mentoring programs. As principal investigator and founding director for a U.S. Public Health Service funded National Center of Leadership in Academic Medicine, she developed and implemented effective model mentoring programs for faculty to enhance gender equity in academic medicine, including advancement into leadership positions. Dr. Pololi is the recipient of numerous grants and contracts. She has also served as consultant to medical schools and the U.S. Surgeon General’s Physician Professional Advisory Committee on developing mentoring programs.
