K-12 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS PROGRAMS
AP BIOLOGY SCHOLARS PROGRAM
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Advanced Placement (AP) Biology Scholars Program is an after-school program for students from selected schools and their teachers, and a professional development component involving a cohort of AP Biology teachers from all Boston Public Schools (BPS). Participants in each component of the program attend one session per month throughout the entire academic year at Harvard Medical School (HMS). In the two-part student program, students and their teachers engage in hands-on AP Biology laboratory experiences and an AP Biology test preparation component. In the professional development component, teachers participate in lectures and laboratory exercises facilitated by HMS staff and students, all of which are relevant to the AP Biology course curriculum.
