PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Established in 1998, Mentoring for Science is an after school program that links Boston Public Schools 8th grade middle school students and their teacher-chaperones, and 9th and 10th grade high school students, with HMS faculty, graduate and medical students who serve as role models/mentors. The program is designed to enhance students' critical thinking and laboratory skills and increase their knowledge about careers in science through mentored relationships and hands-on science laboratory activities.
PROGRAM DATES
- Grade 8
February 3 - May 5, 2009 -- once a week on Tuesdays
- Grade 9
February 4 - April 29, 2009 -- once a week on Wednesdays
- Grade 10

ELIGIBLE STUDENTS MUST:
- Make a commitment to attend all program seminars and activities;
- Be committed to participating in the Mentoring For Science Program for the program’s duration.
