ABOUT US:

The Longwood Medical Area Romanian Biomedical Scientists group is a platform for the Romanian biomedical student and research community in the Boston area. Our goal is to establish and consolidate a network that should help us get to know each other better, ensure improved communication, identify collaboration opportunities, and foster career development.

For this purpose, we organize a monthly research seminar series, showcasing scientific presentations followed by informal discussions during dinner.

Moreover, we envision future collaborations with scientists in Romania, eventually funded by Romanian government agencies that would support fellowships for Romanian students/postdoctoral fellows to collaborate with HMS-affiliated labs.

Another future area of interest would be clinical and genetic studies in Romanian disease populations (e.g. cancer, cardiovascular disease are highly prevalent in this country).
